AAWGT: Making a difference in our community!

2011 Grantees

Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT) is pleased to announce that six non-profit organizations will receive a total of $79,173 in grants beginning on July 1, 2011. 

Anne Arundel Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) – Volunteer Training - $15,000 to train volunteers who provide support and advocacy for abused or neglected children involved in the court system. 

The Arc of the Central Chesapeake Region – Family Support Services - $10,000 to help families care for their disabled children at home by paying for adaptive equipment, therapies, medical care, co-pays and other necessities.

Arundel House of Hope – Free Medical and Wellness Clinic - $15,000 to provide free health care, prescriptions, and laboratory tests to homeless, uninsured, and low-income citizens.
 
Food Link – Wholesale Produce Distribution - $15,000 to provide fresh produce for families in need by distributing surplus, gleaned, and donated food through various farmers’ markets.

Robert A. Pascal Youth and Family Services
– Stop the Violence! Two - $9,173 for play therapy and filial therapy programs helping children aged 3-10 who have experienced traumas such as abuse, illness, family dissolution and domestic violence.


YWCA of Annapolis/Anne Arundel County – YWCA Legal Services - $15,000 to help victims of domestic abuse obtain peace and protective orders through the services of a staff attorney.
