The Partners in Care Member Services Program,
using a time-exchange model, uses a large volunteer base to serve a wide
variety of needs of elderly residents, allowing them to stay in their
own homes while ensuring a safe environment and reducing isolation as
well as relieving stress on caregivers.
Volunteers
provide rides to important destinations such as medical appointments,
banks, and grocery stores. Oter volunteers perform handyman repairs.
Staff and volunteers also assist elderly epople to find additional
resources within the community such as legal help, access to food banks,
alternative affordable housing, medical, eye or dental care and much
more.
AAWGT funds will benefit more than 400 older women this year.
