Note:  The 2010 grants cycle is now closed.  The 2011 criteria and forms will be available in late 2010.

Grant Criteria

AAWGT funds programs that improve the lives of economically-disadvantaged, at-risk women (of all ages) and families living in Anne Arundel County.  Grants of up to $10,000 are awarded for outstanding programs.  See Grant Criteria for more detailed information.

Timeline For 2010 Grant Cycle

• Application Form available December 2009
• Applicant Workshops January 9 and January 22, 2010
• Applications due February 18, 2010 
• Grant awards announced mid-May 2010
• Grants awarded July 1, 2010 (to be completed by June 30, 2011)

How to Apply for an AAWGT Grant

• Read through the full Grant Criteria to make sure your organization qualifies.
• Print and fill out the Application Form
• Prepare and attach your proposal and the attachments requested (Instructions are included in the application form.)  Also see Program Budget Template and Tips for Writing Grant Proposals. 
• Send electronic and hard copies as specified on the application form.
  

How AAWGT Awards Grants

By pooling their contributions, AAWGT members are able to leverage the impact of their charitable giving. In 2009 AAWGT awarded over $64,000 in grants to Anne Arundel County non-profits.  Members are involved in every aspect of the grantmaking process.  Teams of AAWGT members review the proposals received and in some cases conduct site visits.  Team leaders meet to present their findings and reach consensus as to which proposals are to be recommended to the general membership for a vote.  AAWGT members determine which programs are awarded grants each year. 

Grantees

In June 2009, AAWGT awarded $64,529 to seven Anne Arundel County nonprofits.  See 2009 Grantees for information about the grantees.
