2010 AAWGT Committees

Education & Program Committee - provides resources and creates educational opportunities for Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT) members to learn about various issues affecting women and families in Anne Arundel County and general issues of philanthropy and giving circles.

Governance Committee – develops and revises bylaws and other governing documentation for AAWGT and its constituent committees, which incorporate the mission, goals and procedures of AAWGT, and amends them as needed.

Grants Committee – manages the process for selecting grantee organizations each year, develops the timeline, and oversees the call for proposals process and the review and evaluation of the grant proposals submitted to AAWGT. In addition, the committee develops and updates the grant application and other forms that AAWGT uses to evaluate grant proposals. The Reviewers Subcommittee reviews grant proposals, conducts site visits, and recommends grant funding to the membership.

Marketing & Communications Committee – develops regular informational AAWGT communications for AAWGT members, helps promote events, manages the AAWGT website and e-newsletter, develops and distributes member marketing materials, and handles media relations.

Membership & Outreach Committee – provides information to prospective members and welcomes new members, facilitating their participation in activities and committees. The committee plans new member orientations during the year and several events for members and prospective members.

Leadership Development/Nominating Committee – creates joint learning opportunities and nurtures skill and leadership growth among AAWGT membership. Also annually nominates a slate of Officers and Committee Chairs and Assistant Chairs for term of service and assists in filling any vacancies.

Asst. Chair: Thérèse Gardner

Post Grants Evaluation Committee – serves as point of contact to the recipients of the grants awarded by AAWGT and as liaison to the Grants and Education & Program Committees, as well as obtaining information about the success and challenges with programs funded.
