This month's recommendation for the new AAWGT Reading Group is The Other Wes Moore:  One Name, Two Fates. In 2000, the author was on his way to his final year of college when he learned about another Wes Moore who was on his way to prison.  Both men were raised in poverty by single mothers in the greater Baltimore area.  "That the author resisted the criminal underworld while the other wes drifted into it is chalked up less to character than to the influence of relatives, mentors and expectations that pushed against his own delinquent impulses."  Not only is this book a compelling true story, it is also an inspirational guide for the important work we do in helping women and families.

AAWGT members and guests plan to discuss The Other Wes Moore on Wednesday, June 30.  If you would like to join the group for this book, contact Laurie Sharp at lsharp1000@msn.com.
