AAWGT: Over 10 years of making a difference in our community!
AAWGT’s Grant Program Overview
Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT) funds programs that improve the quality of life for women and families in Anne Arundel County. AAWGT is a Fund of the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County. Grants from a minimum of $5,000 up to a maximum of $20,000 are awarded for outstanding programs.
AAWGT launched its 2018 Grant Cycle as of December 1, 2017 and proposals are due by February 1, 2018. We accept proposals from local nonprofits in three broad areas: education, health and welfare, and prevention of/treatment for violence and abuse.
Shortly after receiving proposals, teams of AAWGT members begin our rigorous review process evaluating proposals against a set of criteria and in some cases will conduct site visits. Team leaders meet to present their findings and reach consensus as to which proposals would be recommended to the membership for a vote. Following our early May membership voting meeting, the 2018 grantees will be notified and begin their work on July 1, 2018.
