CALL FOR 2022 GRANT APPLICATIONS

AN INVITATION TO NONPROFITS FROM

ANNE ARUNDEL WOMEN GIVING TOGETHER (AAWGT)

AAWGT is a group of community-minded women who pool their resources to invest in local nonprofits. Through our education programs, our members learn about the needs in Anne Arundel County. Each year they vote on how to allocate their combined contributions for maximum philanthropic impact. Since our founding in 2006, Anne Arundel Women Giving Together has awarded more than $1.4 million in grants that have supported the work of 42 different nonprofit organizations across the County.

Anne Arundel Women Giving Together is proud to have had the opportunity to partner with outstanding nonprofits in the past and we look forward to continuing that work. For 2022 we will offer a single grant type to simplify the application process. And although we have a focus area this year that highlights proposals that we are particularly interested in receiving, we continue to invite applications from a wide variety of organizations.

Focus Statement

Our mission is to improve the quality of life of women and families in Anne Arundel County. For 2022, we are particularly interested in proposals that prioritize issues of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) when addressing the underlying causes of hardship (such as childhood hunger, higher mortality rates, educational disparities, homelessness and mental health) and/or proposals that come from organizations with annual gross receipts of less than $100,000.

The focus statement is not meant to eliminate organizations from applying for one of our grants. Instead, we hope to encourage organizations that fall within the focus areas to submit a grant proposal. We know the past two years have been especially difficult for nonprofits; we have worked this year to make our application process easier. Please join us in working to make a difference in the lives of women and families in our community.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

• Grant proposals should be responsive to our mission. We are particularly interested in proposals that incorporate DEI and in smaller nonprofits.
• Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000.
• Each organization may submit only one application and is eligible to receive only one grant.
• The application deadline is Friday, February 11, 2022 at 11:59pm.
• The funding period is July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
• Information concerning our grants program, using our online application (required), and guidance on completing our application can be found at givingtogether.org/grants.

Potential applicants are encouraged to attend one of our identical Zoom Applicant Workshops on Thursday, January 13 at 9:30am or 1:30pm.

The workshops will address organizational requirements including federal and state legal requirements and organizational basics as well as presenting an overview of our application. Register for a workshop at: givingtogether.org/events.
