At AAWGT, we believe that a strong, thriving community is built through respect, partnership and the celebration of every individual’s dignity and worth. We know that DEIAB is an ongoing journey — not a destination — and we are committed to learning, evolving and working together to build a truly inclusive and equitable organization.

Diversity

Equity

We strive to ensure that every person receives the resources and support they need to fully participate and thrive within our organization. We are committed to identifying and removing systemic and structural barriers that prevent equitable opportunities and outcomes.

Inclusion

We seek to intentionally create a welcoming environment for all who engage with us. We are committed to listening to and working alongside the valuable voices of our members, grantee partners, and the women and families in Anne Arundel County to shape our programs and our collective vision for community impact.

Access

We work to ensure that our programs, communications and opportunities be physically, linguistically and financially accessible, meeting people where they are and honoring the diversity of our community.

Belonging

We foster a culture where everyone feels an authentic sense of connection and acceptance, and ultimately a sense of belonging. We recognize that belonging is built together through shared trust, ongoing learning and mutual accountability within our membership and with the community we serve.

Equity Study Group

The Equity Study Group will meet by ZOOM from 4:00-5:00pm on Thursday, May 14th. In honor of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, our guests will be Dr. Raza Khan and Fahim Rafiq, members of the Governor’s Commission on South Asian American Affairs.
