AAWGT'S ANNUAL WOMEN AND LEADERSHIP FORUM
The Cost of Silence
Wednesday, March 4, 2020
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Blue Heron Room
Quiet Waters Park
600 Quiet Waters Road
Did you know that the Census numbers collected every 10 years determine how more than $675 billion in federal funds are distributed to state and local communities for critical local services like Medicaid, SNAP, Head Start and more?
Did you know that in the 2010 census, Anne Arundel County had a 20% non-response rate, resulting in more than $43 million lost to our community because people went uncounted. For each community to obtain the resources it needs, every count matters! The cost of silence is severe for those women and families we seek to serve.
Join us for a dynamic and informative presentation about the challenges and implications of Census 2020, given by Maggie Gunther Osborn (Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, United Philanthropy Forum). Maggie's presentation will be followed by an interactive panel discussion with representatives from our community deeply invested and impacted by the results of Census 2020.
This event is open to members and the general public.
