Poverty Amidst Plenty: Building Community Together

Dr. Pamela Brown, Executive Director, Anne Arundel County Partnership for Children, Youth and Families

Free and open to the public

Every three years, the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County takes an honest look at how our neighbors are really doing. The result is Poverty Amidst Plenty VIII, the county’s most in-depth look at community needs. Dr. Pamela Brown will connect the numbers to real lives, weaving together data and stories that shed light on issues from housing costs to youth mental health.

Dr. Pamela Brown is currently the executive director of the Anne Arundel County Partnership for Children, Youth and Families. Over the past 30 years she has held several leadership positions in the fields of education, social services and government including vice president of programs at a not-for-profit agency, assistant district administrator for family services in state government, chief-of-staff for a board of city commissioners and most recently contractor for the children’s mental health core competencies at the Innovations Institute, University of Maryland. She completed her Ph.D. in educational leadership at Florida Atlantic University. Her dissertation focused on the importance of community partnerships in diverse neighborhoods to improve outcomes for children and families.

  • “Getting Togethers,” during which members meet to socialize (Quarterly; members and prospective members only)
  • Book Group (Six times per year; members only)
  • Racial Equity Study Group (Monthly; members only)

Equity Study Group

The Equity Study Group will be meeting on Thursday, November 13, 4-5 pm on Zoom.

The speaker is Chrissie Bowman, founder and principal of Social Impact Solutions. She will discuss her success in Baltimore empowering nonprofits and community-based organizations to support broadband in underserved area.

Equity Study Group Meeting Recording
