Each year, we host several events to provide many ways to serve, learn, and socialize:
- Education Program (February; open to all)
- Women and Leadership Forum (March; open to all)
- Spring Open House (April; open to all)
- Grants Voting Meeting, during which members select grant recipients for the upcoming year (May; members only)
- Education Program (June; open to all)
- Grants Showcase featuring current grantees and introduction of new grantees (September; open to all)
- Business Meeting, during which members select leadership for the upcoming year (October; members only)
- Education Program (November; open to all)
- Getting Togethers, during which members meet to socialize (Quarterly; members and prospective members only)
- Book Group (Six times per year; members only)
- Racial Equity Study Group (Monthly; members only)
Most events are open to everyone, and members are encouraged to bring their friends and prospective members. Meetings related to the business of the organization are noted as “members only.”

Please join us for a conversation with Chief Amal E. Awad of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, and Fire Chief, Trisha L. Wolford of the Anne Arundel Fire Department — both dedicated and accomplished public servants who play a vital role in keeping our community safe. We will discuss how they have navigated their professional paths, built relationships and inspired meaningful results. We will also have Preeti Emrick, JD, director of the Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management, facilitating this discussion.
This event is free and open to the public, and you can attend in person or via a live stream. Registration opens soon.

General meetings
Delays and cancellations will be posted on this website at. Look for the ORANGE statement at the top of the website for the current status of the event. If an event has to be cancelled for which there is a registration roster, an email will be sent to EVERY registered participant in addition to the notice on the website. Please check your email as well as this website for additional details.
Steering Committee meetings
Delays or cancellations for Steering Committee Meetings will be based on the Anne Arundel County weather closings/delays. If Anne Arundel County Buildings are open and employees have been told to report for work, AAWGT will hold its Steering committee Meeting as scheduled. If the buildings are not open or there is a delay, the Steering Committee Meeting will be cancelled. An email will be sent to all Steering Committee members to inform them of the decision. Please check your email BEFORE coming to the meeting.
