Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT) is a collective giving circle with the mission of improving the quality of life for women and families living in Anne Arundel County. Since its founding in 2006, AAWGT has awarded nearly $2 million in grants to 52 nonprofit organizations.

AAWGT’s 380+ members are engaged citizens. We serve on boards, donate hundreds of volunteer hours and financially support the many nonprofit organizations serving our most vulnerable citizens. And, as a women-only philanthropic organization sponsored by the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, we aim to educate not only our membership but also the general public with year-round and activities that focus on the most critical needs of our county’s families.

Each year, our membership grows. We are now the “go to” organization that attracts community leaders, retired professionals, new residents and – in a new initiative this year – we have now expanded our membership levels to encourage participation from younger women and those working in our nonprofit sector. Our members represent the future of grassroots philanthropy in our area.

Our sponsor partners help underwrite the costs of running our all-volunteer organization. This includes administrative, technology, event, marketing and program expenses, totaling about $40K per year. While helping AAWGT’s financial sustainability, this support also channels more of our members’ dollars into our annual grants to area organizations.
