AAWGT Survey!
Fill out the survey to let us know if you are interested in joining a committee or a Member Group Thank you for being a member of Anne Arundel Women Giving Together! Your membership is the first step in creating meaningful change for women, children, and families throughout Anne Arundel County. One of the things that makes AAWGT so special is that members can choose to be as involved as they'd like. If you’re interested in deepening your impact, we invite you to serve on a committee or join one of our member groups. Committee participation is a great way to build relationships, develop new skills, and help shape the future of our organization. Most committees meet once a month and require approximately five additional volunteer hours per month for general committee members. Activities may include planning events, welcoming new members, reviewing grant applications, supporting communications, connecting with nonprofit organizations, and more. If you’d like to get involved, simply complete the form here! | Volunteering Together
Diaper Packing Party! Join us to pack diapers in support of Walk the Walk Foundation. This packing plays an important role in helping Walk the Walk Foundation keep up with the demand for diapers, and it is a great opportunity to make a hands-on impact in our local community. As a volunteer, you will repackage donated diapers into bundles of 25 and apply labels to purchased packs, preparing them for distribution to 25 partner agencies. This ensures fair, consistent, and dignified support for families across our community. Date: Saturday, September 12th, 2026 Please contact nextgen@givingtogether.org if you have any questions about this vounteer opportunity. |

Sponsor Spotlight Thank you to Presenting Sponsor Sims & Campbell
“We are proud to be one of AAWGT’s longest standing sponsors,” says Frank Campbell, Principal and Founder of Sims & Campbell, one of the area’s largest and most respected estate planning firms. “AAWGT’s mission of serving women and families gives strength and vitality to our community, ultimately benefiting us all.” Sims & Campbell’s estate planning lawyers advise individuals and families in creating estate plans that provide for beneficiaries, minimize gift and estate taxes, preserve and protect assets, designate guardians of minor children, and benefit charitable organizations. Leadership Message
Into Our Next Decade As we begin a new program year, AAWGT finds itself in an exciting position: standing at the threshold of our next decade. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary year and prepare for our 20th grant cycle, we have an exciting opportunity to build on two decades of collective philanthropy, learning, and community impact. AAWGT’s continued growth invites us to ask new questions about how we can strengthen our grantmaking, best serve our members, and position our organization for the future. That work is already underway as we continue to professionalize our operations, implement our first Strategic Plan, and build on the findings of our first Grantee Benefit Review. I look forward to sharing both of these important resources with our members in the months ahead. One of my favorite traditions of the year is our Grants Showcase, where we celebrate the organizations that are transforming the lives of women and families across Anne Arundel County through the support of AAWGT members. I hope you will join us on September 29th as we recognize our 2025 grant recipients and learn more about the impact of their work in our community. And when you register, consider bringing a guest. Better yet, bring a daughter, granddaughter, niece, goddaughter, or another young woman in your life who shares your passion for giving back. As we look ahead to the future of AAWGT, there is no better way to strengthen our circle than by welcoming the next generation of philanthropists and introducing them to the opportunities available through both AAWGT and our growing Next Gen initiative. -Ellen Shiery | 20th Anniversary News
Celebrating 20 Years Together By building AAWGT’s endowment, we create a lasting financial foundation that can support our mission year after year—helping ensure that future generations of members can continue the collective giving and grantmaking that have made such a difference in our community. “Endowment is oxygen,” say Tara Clifford and Bronwyn Belling, our 20th Anniversary Endowment Campaign Chairs, “and creates lasting impact for AAWGT in our community.” First established in 2011, AAWGT’s Endowment has now grown to more than $1 million. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are building on that foundation with a goal of raising $200,000 and welcoming 20 new Lifetime Members. Thanks to nine new Lifetime Members and generous individual gifts this year, we are already well on our way! Help us secure AAWGT’s financial future and assure additional grant dollars. Make a gift to the Endowment or become a Lifetime Member today.
